Shire Leasing: From Sales Support to Scalable Growth
The challenge
Shire Leasing had grown through strong sales relationships and outbound activity, with marketing playing a limited, support role.
This created three key challenges:
- No clear brand positioning in a competitive market
- Limited digital presence and infrastructure
- No visibility on how marketing contributed to revenue
As buyer behaviour shifted online, the business needed to modernise without disrupting an already successful sales-led model.
The approach
We partnered with Shire Leasing to build a complete marketing capability from the ground up.
This included:
- Brand positioning to clearly articulate value and differentiate in key sectors. Working closely with leadership teams, the partnership established:
- Clear value propositions for each business
- Distinct visual identities
- Consistent tone of voice
- Sector-relevant messaging frameworks
This helped reposition the businesses from transactional lenders to trusted partners supporting SME growth.
- A new website designed as a conversion-focused acquisition platform. A key part of the initiative was the creation of a new HubSpot-powered website designed not simply as an information hub but as conversion-led acquisition platform.
- CRM integration (HubSpot) to track leads through to revenue which allowed enquiries, leads and sales progress to be tracked through a single system. For the first time, the business could see how digital marketing activity translated into commercial outcomes.
- Performance marketing campaigns to drive scalable digital growth. Previously, activity had largely been assessed by the number of leads generated. The new infrastructure allowed performance to be evaluated based on lead quality and eventual sales outcomes.
Marketing platforms, website analytics and CRM data were integrated so that campaigns could be optimised using real commercial feedback.
This enabled smarter investment decisions and significantly improved visibility for senior leadership into marketing’s contribution to growth.
Crucially, this wasn’t just about campaigns – it was about creating the infrastructure, data and processes needed for long-term, measurable growth.
We worked closely with leadership and sales teams to ensure everything aligned with real commercial priorities and how the business actually operates.
The results
Marketing is now embedded within the business as a strategic growth driver, not just a support function with:
- A fully integrated marketing and CRM system, connecting activity to revenue
- Increased lead quality, with more informed and engaged prospects
- Improved sales efficiency, allowing teams to focus on higher-value strategic opportunities
- New digital acquisition channels delivering measurable commercial impact
The transformation programme is still relatively recent, early results demonstrate clear impact with digital campaigns starting to generate a meaningful commercial impact:
- Over 150 leads in six weeks at under £20 per lead
- Generating over £450k of approved new business from a completely new digital ad channel (Facebook ads) demonstrating the potential for scalable digital engagement in traditionally offline sectors.
